Yesterday I was doing the dishes. I'd left half of them from the night before, cuz I'd gotten really tired of washing dishes halfway through the day before. As soon as I'd finished and was wiping off the counter and the stove, Ryan came home. He'd brought the mail, and held up an 8x10 envelope from the Davis Applied Technology College Practical Nursing Program. He asked me, "um... is this good?" I said I didn't know, but we'd find out. I wiped off my wet hands, opened the envelope and read:
Dear Ashley:
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted for admission to the practical nursing program at the datc.
WEE!!! I'm in a nursing program in Utah! it's for an LPN or licensed practical nurse. They do almost what RN's do, but they can't give certain drugs and do other things that RN's can. And, if you're an LPN and work for IHC-you're pretty much a glorified CNA. cuz they don't use them much. But the DATC's program transitions right in to Weber State's PN-RN program. So I'll just continue on, but get to work as a nurse while going to school.
Ryan was so excited he thought we needed to celebrate. So we went to Market Street Grill for dinner. As we were waiting for our seat, I got a phone call. It was from the IHC Ultrasonography program. They want to offer me a position in the program too! I was like holy cow! overload! I told them I had just found out that day that i was accepted in to a nursing program as well, so I'd like some time to decide. They gave me till monday, but I don't need that long. I know I want to do nursing. It's much more varied and more opportunities will be available. I'll learn so much more and do so much more. And I have the opportunity to make more money. Not that that's a big driving factor.
I'm excited to finally be in a program! to finally get a move on with my life! I was wondering what in the world I was going to do if I had to keep waiting.

Stuff
Stuff? what a funny word. and how did it come to mean-you know- stuff? I mean, does stuff really have a definition? I'd call stuff a conglomeration of multiple, maybe not related, but maybe related, topics, things, what not, that you read/write/think/talk about or do.
nice eh?
well I'm just gonna talk about some stuff.
Snow
um, my last post was about it being practically spring. well... it snowed today. I'm changing the saying. this year March is coming in like a lion, being a lamb in the middle somewhere, and then going out like a lion. but you know, it's snowed in June many times in Utah, so I'm not really stressed about it. But it sure was nice when it was... uh. nice.
Pilates
I just went to the most fun Pilates class I've ever had! and the instructor was pregnant! you'd never think that a pregnant person could teach pilates. but she was very good. she showed what she could and then described the rest in a very easy way. The class was a 24hour fitness where I often work out. The reason why I loved it so much is because the last 1/4 of the class is standing and doing pretty much ballet. It reminded me so much of the good 'ol days when I'd wear tights without underwear (hey! it's required and all ballerinas do it. we weren't even allowed to wear undies under our leotards and tights.) and a black leotard and go to ballet class. But I never remembered my arms getting so tired just holding them up in second position for a while. whew! I miss dancing. I always loved ballet. Unlike my sister who loves to pop and lock in hip hop moves, I always loved the look of the old movies with graceful women. Like audrey hepburn and grace kelly. They were just so graceful and feminine and I loved it! I always wanted to be graceful and feminine, and... long. yeah, genetics kind of got in the way of one of those. I'd forgotten until pilates today how much I've missed trying to be graceful. I almost always make sure I have good posture, cuz- well, standing up straight makes you taller. But maybe I'll just make a little mental note to remember my younger days where I tried to move with grace. The instructor in pilates actually said something about how people will trust and respect you more if you move gracefully. So that's something to think about if you're a homey-G walking down the street like you've got a perma-limp. (I laugh whenever I see any of those "gangstas" strutting around. yeah, not really trust and respect inducing.)
camping with a cat
So, about two days ago I woke up at like 5:30 am because Afro decided it was time to lay on my whole head, covering my face, and stabbing my trachea with his elbows. very nice. And suddenly, I was bombarded with thoughts and worries about if we DO end up moving to alaska. What in the world is Afro gonna do while we drive 8-10 hours a day and camp every night? So I did some research about moving with your cat. which answered a lot of questions about preparing your cat to be in the car for a long time. pretty much you take your cat for lots of rides so riding in the car becomes normal. -in a carrier of course. it also answered questions like what about when he's gotta go? -supposedly you can take a litter box. but -ew- smell? I also found how to aclimate you cat to their new home and all that. But I had just one question what about the camping? has anyone ever tried it? apparently, a lot of people. yeah, just google "camping with a cat" and you'll learn all you need to know about camping with cats. pretty much your success depends on the personality of your cat. -if they're down with the outdoors, if they can handle a leash. So if you see me embarassingly walking a cat on a leash (I think cat's on leashes are so stupid. but if we let afro loose in a campsite he'd be gone and never come back.) it's cuz we're probably moving and I've gotta get him ready. I think i'll car train him starting now though, because that could just come in handy anytime.
read my favorite find from my google camping search. read it here. -man these are dedicated pet owners. The cat has diabetes and renal failure(kidney failure) and the author says something about having to give her daily pills and a "sub-Q" which i figured was just an injection once a day. oh no! he has pictures of his set up. it's a full on i/v drip pretty much! crazy!

practically spring!
today the weather was so nice!
Ryan called me from work and said we should go biking because the weather was so nice.
I slept pretty much the whole day because I worked last night. I slept through my alarm and didn't make it to school. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not really that sad about it. :)
We finally ate muck on toast today because I got the bacon and milk. I also bought these chips that are made from other root veggies besides potatoes. They only have 9 grams of fat and 3 grams of fiber per serving! and are suprisingly tasty! You can find some fun stuff down the "health food" aisle. anyway... Ryan said as we were eating it that I make it different than his mom. She doesn't have bacon in it, and the yokes are sprinkled on top. And they call it "egg allen golden rod" or something like that. Ryan said that he has no idea why it's called that or even what the words are or where the separations between them go. So... mom-what's up with the name?
After eating, we went biking with Laura and Jordan on the Jordan River Parkway. It was really nice. the weather is so great! I love the transition seasons! Spring and Fall. Cuz I love the newness and the temperature. can't wait for more!

On friday, we spent the evening with Lindsay and Michael. (Ry's sister)
I was busy making spaghetti, when Lindsay called and told Ryan they were bored. We invited them over for spaghetti and then we went to Joanne's because the fabric Lindsay got for our quilt didn't match enough, so we were switching it. The people at the fabric store were really annoying. They took forever, and the store has some crazy policy about not cutting the same fabric twice. Like lindsay needed 9 yards, but 9 yards is hard to work with, so she asked them to cut it into 3 yards and 6. But they wouldn't. But The Joannes in Orem did it for her on the fabric she had bought previously. So when she was exchanging it, the lady said, "well this has been cut!" I wanted to say "no way? is that how it got in two peices??" but that would be rude, and I'm not THAT rude. So anyway... the lady said some more stuff about not supposed to cut it, and being all confused about why there were 7 3/8th's of a yard instead of just seven... blah blah blah blah blah blah.... she finally just measured it and Lindsay exchanged it.
After that we went to Horton Hears a Who. SO GOOD! it was hilarious! we really liked it. it's got some good lines in it. And Jim Carey and Steve Carrell did a good job. Funny funny funny.
Ryan even said on Saturday while we were dying easter eggs:
"you know what I wanna do?"
"what?"
"I wanna see Horton Hears a Who again."
"really?"
"Yeah, it was really good! "
an incredibly interesting conversation, I know. definitely worth regurgitating.

Happy Easter!
yay! happy easter!
Our easter was pretty good. We decorated eggs on Saturday night. Ryan nicely boiled them all for me while I was working. Afro was just facinated by the fizzing color tabs in the vinegar. Our coloring packed was lame though! We had two pinks and two oranges instead of a blue and red! but our eggs turned out kind of pretty anyway.

Ryan made one with an angry face, and everytime he looked at it he giggled a little to himself. He thought it looked funny. On the other side is a happy face.
We were supposed to eat the eggs in muck on toast after church, but we had no bacon and not enough milk. and we decided that the ox was not in the mire enough to go get some. We had egg salad sandwiches instead.
We sang in the ward choir for the easter program. It was pretty good. Better than christmas I think, cuz we had more people in the chior this time.
In my primary class we went over the story of the first easter. They knew it really well cuz they all have good parents, that seem to have gone over it with them already. All the kids (only two of the four today actually, so both of the kids.) held up the cutouts of the Easter story. Then we made tombs from cupcakes. Here's mine i made for an example.
We went over the story as we made them, and then I told them they couldn't eat them until they told the story of Jesus' resurrection to someone else. I can't take credit for the idea though, it's from sugardoodle.net. It was a hit though!
(Ryan is so good to me. I forgot the cupcakes and he went back for them. It seems I forget a lot of things on sundays, and he's always so good to hurry home and get them while I go to opening exercises with my class. my hero. *sigh*)
After church we ate our egg salad sandwiches while watching the mythbusters shoot water heaters through a house. Way cool! I laughed a lot cuz it's way more than you'd think a water heater could do! It definitely made me realize how important it is to make sure all the safety mechanisms and things are working properly on my water heater. seriously, kids, it blew the little house they made for it up completely!! and it shot 400 feet in the air. it took probably a whole minute to come back down! way cool!
After mythbusters, I took a nap cuz I had to work all night. My dad and Laura and Jordan are in southern Utah this weekend, and we thought that meant my mom was too. But turns out that she's on call, and so when we didn't show up for dinner she called us. It was nice to not have to make dinner. It was very yummy and she had set the table up all eastery. She even got us easter baskets and tonz of candy! a whole bag of jelly beans for Ryan after he said how much he likes them.
overall, I thought it was a very good easter

One Year Later...
It was our one year anniversary on Saturday! I can't believe it's been one year! crazy! Time has just flown! it's always been that way though, even when we were dating, it never seemed like we had been together as long as we had. Maybe that's what God does, makes time seem to go by faster so that eternity really doesn't seem that long. :)
On saturday morning we went out to breakfast, and then cleaned the house. very glamorous I know.
But it's been so nice to have the whole house clean! even our bedroom!
later, we took my costume from the party the night before back to the rental place and then went to Red Lobster for dinner. We've kind of decided that Red Lobster "our place" since we had our first date there, our wedding dinner there, and now our first anniversary. Ryan kept saying "we should do this more often, this is good!" until the check came, and then we remembered why we don't eat seafood every day of the week. :) but it was worth it for a special occasion.
After dinner we drove WAY out to Magna to the Empress Theater. Which is a little community theater that has just been reopened in 2006 after renovation. before that, the last time it was open was something like 1948. We saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which is always a fun show. The production was pretty, well... definitely community theater, let's just say that. And I understand they need funding and donations, but holy pound-it -into-you to make donations! But the cast was talented, and the venue was very intimate. They even have a live band! very cool. It's worth the price of admission and I recommend it if you're ever out that way. (WAY out that way! it was just down from the smelter- any farther west and you're on the oquirrh mtn. range!)
It was a really nice night, like pretty much all nights out with my lovely husband though.
one year down, only about 70 or so to go! (in this life anyway)
Ashley's Roller Disco Birthday Party
As far as this post goes, I think that pictures speak louder than words.
I'm not really sure Jordan was fully aware we were taking a picture. or maybe he found something shiny on the table.

We were doing an awesome pose on our skates, but of course, the picture was taken when we were falling.

One of my privileges as birthday girl. And yes, it is as fun as it looks! the fake money transferred into tickets. Ryan picked out a deck of cards.

So after all skating and arcading and cake eating, it was a pretty awesome party! We went to VeNicia's afterward and saw her tiny baby kitties. We also watched barefoot in the park, which was a very silly 60's movie. overall, it was a fabulous time. Happy 23rd!

Ultrasonography interview
In case anyone wants to know, I have once again been regected from yet another nursing program. No IHC program. Which is too bad cuz that one's free! as long as I work for them for two years.
On a happier note. I had an interview today, I mean yesterday, (it's the 13 now isn't it? night shift is hard.) for the IHC ultrasonography program. It was a group interview with about 9 other people. I felt like it went well. we had to prepare a three minute presentation on anything of our choice. I did mine on the Canyonlands Half Marathon. I was one of only 3 that presented on something that didn't have anything to do with anything medical. there was another girl that talked about gardening, and a funny tai woman that talked about her traveling to vietnam and getting stuck in france with a taxi driver that only spoke french. It was hilarious! but I don't know that she necissarily meant to be so funny...
The only thing I didn't feel good about was when they asked us to all talk about why we're interested in this program. I told the truth, but it didn't sound very good I don't think. Something like- well, nursing isn't working right now, so I'd like to do something in the medical field that does not include answering the phone, or being the nurse's go-fer and turning help. and it pays pretty good too. Okay, it was better than that. But other people actually thought about saying the nice stuff. Like how they like patient care, and making people feel comfortable and help diagnose their diseases. I think I've gotten so discouraged with nursing programs lately, I've had a generally bad attitude about everything. It happens everytime I get another regection letter. I'm just crabby for about three days because I start dreading if all the other ones are regections too and then what am I going to do with the rest of my life? why do i have to keep waiting? does God even want me to be a nurse? blah blah blah. but usually something brings me back and I realize that things are all gonna be okay. It's just too bad I chose to have a bad attitude when I'm interviewing. (noticed I said that I chose to have the bad attitude, I am aware!)
anyhoo... Tonight my bad attitude was aided by one of the bad things about blogging. comparison. I found myself going to mary's blog which led me to haley's blog which led me to jake and Shannon's blog, which connected me to steph used to be keller's blog. and I started noticing all her nice outfits in all the pictures. and all the sudden, the wardrobe that I was perfectly fine with thirty seconds before, was no longer good enough. And I started resenting that Ry and I don't have enough money for me to be a fashionista with trendy new clothes all the time... and then I caught myself. What was I thinking? I don't need no stinking clothes! I hardly wear clothes! technically anyway. I wear scrubs and running clothes and pjs and in between I wear one of probably 6 favorite outfits. and that works for me! Materialism is of the devil. So i've here by banned myself from looking at people's blogs I don't even really know. I will only look at those of people who are uplifting- not to say that stephanie is not an uplifting person, but her clothes cause the green monster of jealousy to come out of hiding. :) I've also decided I shouldn't blog at three in the morning on night shift cuz I don't know that this post made any sense. did you know that blog came from web log? or weblog? and eventually, just blog. I never knew, and now it seems to make more sense that it's blog cuz otherwise it's just a funny word. say it with me... blog

got crabs?
I know I just posted like five seconds ago, but I have an awesome story! I'm sitting here, typing away, and Ryan just played basketball so he was in the shower. After getting out of the shower, Ryan walked into our bedroom and started hollaring up a storm! I thought he was just cold or something. So I said
"oh brother"
and he responded,
" you would be freaking out too if you just almost stepped on what I almost stepped on!"
"what did you almost step on?"
"a crab!"
"a crab? like OUR crab? from the fish tank crab?"
"yeah!"
So I promptly ran into the bedroom to see, sure enough, the crab that lives in our fish tank crawling across the carpet! Crabs are notorious for trying to escape and ours was successful! Ryan had fixed the filter in the tank after we blew a fuse yesterday, and didn't get the lid on the fish tank just right. So the crab had an escape route!
I thought it was funny. who in a land locked state finds crabs crawling across their floor? apparently us.
"oh brother"
and he responded,
" you would be freaking out too if you just almost stepped on what I almost stepped on!"
"what did you almost step on?"
"a crab!"
"a crab? like OUR crab? from the fish tank crab?"
"yeah!"

Moab Half Marathon
We went to Moab this last weekend to have a little fun, and I ran the Canyonlands half marathon. we left on Thursday, March 7.
Day 1:
I had worked the night before, so I slept pretty much the whole morning until ten. I packed up the last of our stuff (Ryan had packed most of it the night before while I was at work.) then I picked Ryan up from work. We stopped in American Fork for lunch at JCW's, a burger place that is SOOO good. We also stopped at Ryan's sister, Lindsay's, to pick out a quilt pattern for a quilt she's making us. Then we made one last stop in Springville on our way out on hwy 6 for oil for the car. after stopping so many times I told Ryan no more stops. So as we drove, anything I pointed out along the way- like the road to diamond fork hotsprings a know of on the way, or canyonlands, Ryan would say in a whiney voice, "no more stops", to mock me. what ever.
Here's a picture of us driving to moab. I had to put it in cuz it's the only picture when my hair looked good. :)
We made it to our camp in Arches nat'l park around 5:30. Our site was right next to my parent's camp. I didn't expect my dad to be there until after 10pm cuz that's when he told me he'd be there. but the pop up camper was already in his site. We were so confused. After setting up camp, I realized we hadn't brought matches, so we started heading in to town to get some, otherwise we couldn't eat. we got about 3 miles out, when I remembered that my dad keeps matches in the tent trailer, so we could just get them from him. So we drove back and climbed in the secret bat cave entrance to the locked trailer and stole some matches. Then we made our tin foil dinners in the fire.
they were pretty good, but a little unevenly cooked. After eating we huddled by the fire playing cribbage. It was sooooo Cold!
right as we were heading to bed, my dad showed up. Turns out he really wasn't going to be there until 10pm, but he had dropped the trailer off earlier, then had to teach a class in Moab. good to know. My mom and Laura were supposed to show up late that night, so Ry and I just went to bed and snuggled close all night long, cuz it was freaking freeeeezing! the first night was the coldest of all.
Day 2
We got up at around 7am the next morning when it got light. Ryan was cold and went in search of some sun. He found some on the slick rock next to camp.
he even carried a chair up with him. Unfortunately it got too breezy which didn't warm him up any, so he came down. Good thing too, cuz my dad was making pancakes and ham.
Turns out my Mom and Laura had stopped in Green River because they were too tired to keep driving. So we left them a note and went four-wheeling out to an arch seldom visited: Tower Arch. as is obvious by the tower in the upper left corner.
that's me and Ry if you can't tell. After reaching the arch, I had to yodel a little bit in the awesome echo inside of it. So cool! then we climbed around on the rocks up and behind it.
Ryan is much higher than he looks. *sigh* he's so brave and impetuous.
on our way to the arch it was a little unclear which way to go on the slick rock. So on the way back we built a cairn to show the way to others who might struggle as much as us.
oh, how sweet, our very own cairn out there where it can help others. sigh...
after rock crawling back, we noticed some familiar tire treads having tried a few times and then turned around. Laura and Mom had tried to follow us, and had a hard time. So they left US a note to find them hiking near our campground. we found them easily as we were only a few minutes behind them, and we all hiked to landscape arch.
after visiting the arch, Laura and I sang "the ants go marching" song all the way to the car. We all had lunch, then went to town, and then on to some more jeeping! whee! it was way freaky at some times! the scariest stuff my Dad drove on, cuz Ryan didn't want to be the one responsible for doing any damage. But otherwise, Ry drove the Xterra. Here's some video.
I know it's not that scary looking from the video, but it's freaking insane!!! Laura was riding in the Jeep, Then both of us rode in the X. You can probably hear me screaming. It totally seemed like we were going to tip!
The Jeep one does turn upright so you can actually see it.
The next video is the scariest looking. Check out the rear right wheel! But it was actually less scary to go down. Ryan, Laura, and I were in the xterra behind my parents in the jeep. When we saw them go down this, Ryan immediately stopped, pulled on the brake and said "not me!"
After 4-wheeling for a while, we went back and had dinner-pasta for the race the next day! we had a fire, then went to bed.
Day 3-Race Day
My dad and I woke up early on Saturday. We ate oatmeal, and got all our stuff together and drove to the pick up. we found Tom, my uncle, and got on a bus. We got to the drop off by all the port a potties with two hours to go till race start. It was FREEZING!!! it was like 45 degrees! we were wearing our sweats and stuff, but it was still cold. we stood around trying to get behind groups of people to block the wind. Thirty minutes to start time, we had to take our warm clothes off and put them in the sweat van to be taken to the finish. after that it got Really cold. I was just wearing running shorts and a long sleeve synthetic shirt and a running hat. we jumped and wiggled and eventually settled on just huddling together in a big bear hug to keep warm. eventually, we heard people cheering, and knew the race had started. We were pretty far back in the 10 min. mile pace area. we didn't start moving forward until about a minute after the cheering. We didn't pass the start gate until probably 3 or 4 minutes after race start. Eventually though, we were running down a long hill that started the race. It was crazy to be running with so many people! I ran with Tom and Dad until the first walking break (run 5 walk 1...) I like to walk slower than them when resting. They stayed in my view for the first mile or so, and then I lost them completely. I've decided the run walk method really works well. there were people I was leap frogging with for the first half of the race, and then eventually I passed them up because I was able to keep pace for longer. in fact, I kept pace so well I beat my time for running 12 miles during training! my longest run when training was 12 miles. I ran it in 2 1/2 hours. I finished all 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 28 minutes! ya hoooo! It was a gorgeous route, and a really fun run. my only problem was at about mile 11, my knee started feeling like someone was stabbing the side of it with a knife. I don't know where it came from! I've never had any knee pain. lame. But I finished! I saw Ryan and Laura and my mom at the beginning of the chute to the finish line. they captured these lovely photos of me.
In the second picture Laura had just yelled something like "ashley you're amazing" and I'm kind of curtsying a thankyou. I guess. My mom caught some of me right when i'm crossing the finish. My dad and Tom and Aunt Jana and Cousin Haley were closer to the finish. They said "sprint it! sprint it!" So I sprinted the last 10 yards or so. There were a bunch of people that cheered when they saw me sprinting to the end. it was way fun! and I'm surprised i had enough in me to be able to sprint!
The happy half-marathoners
After the race we had lunch, and went to my uncle's hotel room to shower. Then we did some more Jeeping on the slickrock trail with my dad's friend Dean and Dean's dad. It was fun. There was one crazy hill that Dean's dad was trying to get up, and he got stuck on one spot, so my Dad tried to weigh down the front by standing on it. here's evidence.
My dad pretended to be going to go up the same rock, and Laura flipped out! she pulled on the emergency break and wouldn't let go. My dad wasn't going to really go on it, it was way more than our car could handle. But he sure got me and Laura going thinking he was!
We had dinner that night at Tom's hotel, and then we hit the sack early. What a day!
Day 4
We packed up the camp all morning, then went to see some of the arches in Arches. (he he, that sounds funny.)
that's me. in my new hiking skirt that a burned a hole in on this trip. :(

double arch. next time you watch indiana jones - the one with sean connery, remember this picture.
Laura likes to be attractive.

Can you see Ryan in the tree?
On the way out of Moab we stopped to see some dinosaur tracks! cool!

We made it home safe and sound! Afro was so happy to see us.

Ry Bread and Bebe
If you noticed, our web address is rybreadandbebe.blogspot.com. and bebe is pronounced beh-beh. it's baby -only the way Ryan calls me it. Someone said they read it bee-bee, so I wanted to clarify. Ryanandashley, and Ashleyandryan were taken, so I went with our nicknames for eachother. Rye Bread and Baby. get it?

Afro
Shortly after getting married, Ryan and I decided it was time to adopt.
Ryan was working for Parkview Elementary at the time, and a student brought some kittens for show and tell. Ryan asked if they were selling them, and they said they were giving them away to a good home for free. So we went over a week or so later to have a look at the kittens. There were three of them. two fluffy grey ones and a black short haired one. We picked one of the fluffy grey ones. He seemed to have a nice personality, and he was very cute. We named him Afro because he's so fluffy and his hairs are so kinky. He was just an itty bitty little thing when we got him.

he has been so much fun! I always liked cats, but they've always been the family cat. It's much different when it's YOUR cat and you have a relationship with it.
Afro waits for us on the front walk when we come home. Then he walks with us all the way up the stairs and waits for us to open the door so he can come inside. If he's already inside when we come home, he won't leave us alone until we pick him up and give him a proper hello. He'll just keep purring and wrapping himself around our legs.
Afro is also a very good pouncer. if he sees you going to the bedroom, he'll run ahead and hide around the corner to pounce on you as you come through the door. But sometimes you get there before he's ready and then he just looks at you all nonchalant like, what? I just wanted to get here first, that's all. He pounces on anything that moves. and anything that doesn't actually.
Afro got some fuzzy mouse toys for christmas that he will chase around for HOURS. I like to toss them to him when he's on the top bookshelf, and play catch.
Afro likes his mommy, and sleeps on her head almost every night. well, at least it feels that way because he shares my pillow. One night I wasn't quite awake and pushed against him to try to get more pillow and he pushed me away with is paws like- hey! i'm sleeping here. I couldn't believe it. the nerve! If it's not my head, it's my chest, and if not that, than it's between Ryan's legs so he can't move. (maniacal laugh)
Afro also likes to play with his dad and scratch his arms to bits. They wrestle a LOT.
Pretty much we think Afro is the best thing ever. He makes every day a little brighter. And he keeps us company while the other is away. We sure are glad we have him.
this would have been our Christmas card photo had I ever gotten around to it.
this picture was taken before the one above. I was setting up the camera and this was a test shot with the timer. Afro came to investigate at just the right second. it's fuzzy, but I love this picture! It makes me laugh, he looks so chill, like he's being so cool.
demon kitty, with glowing eyes.
one of the reasons we picked Afro was because he would lay in your arms on his back. He's always been a back dweller. He lays on his back all the time on the floor. as shown above.
Afro is so weird. He LOVES the shower. When you're in the shower, he will paw at you through the curtain. and he'll even get into the tub behind the curtain and sit in the shower with you drinking and playing in the water. He gets himself soaked sometimes. And sometimes he just gets soaked by Ryan confining him in there and flipping the switch so the shower comes on. None the less, it's strange for a cat to like water so much. **This is Ryan chiming in. I wanted to share my favorite Afro story so far. Not too long ago Afro was in the tub when the curtain was closed and the faucet running to warm the water up. He likes to dab his feet in there and drink. I flipped the switch to make the water come out of the head when he was standing right under it. Direct hit! He didn't freak out and try to break free like I thought he would do, he calmly got soaked and meandered over to the curtain to leave. The best part happened afterwards. He went and snuggled with Ashley! In bed! She was asleep! I heard from the bedroom, "Aargh! You're soaking wet!" Priceless.
